After all, Caldwell and Thomason have done most of the heavy deciphering-all that's left is to solve the final riddle, head for Rome and start digging.

Radcliffe races to world victory

Paula Radcliffe finally realised her dream of winning a global title when she took gold in the women's marathon at the World Championships in Helsinki.

The world-record holder hit the front early and broke free from her rivals in the last third of the race to win in two hours, 20 minutes and 57 seconds.

Radcliffe's time was a championship record, 64 seconds faster than Kenya's defending champion Catherine Ndereba.

Romania's Constantina Dita battled bravely to take bronze in 2:23:19.

Greek crash 'kills all on board'

See the crash site

An investigation has begun into Greece's worst ever air crash, in which all 121 people on board a Cypriot airliner are feared to have died.

The jet hit a hill near Athens after the pilots apparently fell unconscious after a drop in cabin pressure.

Greek F-16 fighter jets were scrambled when contact with the Helios Airways plane was lost during the flight between Larnaca in Cyprus and Athens.

A Greek investigator said one of the plane's black boxes had been recovered.

I've been reading Mr.Icke for a few years now and this book, for me, is his second best book - the first, naturally, being '...And The Truth Shall Set You Free!'; but then again, 'The Biggest Secret' has got everything! It develops the political/economic/military arguments of '...And The Truth Shall Set You Free!' into a much broader conspirator's landscape, including such features as; an age-old plot to take over planet Earth and its people which is still running today; alien invaders living among us; rampant satanic ritual among the Global Elite hierarchy; free-range genetic experimentation on the human population; the real robots: mind-controlled humans; revelation after revelation about our hidden history - particularly Jesus; the real Diana death story; UFOs and the hollow earth; the roots and development of the Illuminanti/Freemasonary; plus extensive referencing and bibliography...There really is something for everyone in this book, and although I doubt many people will buy the idea in its entirety, David himself is the first to admit that that would not be the point - the point is to take a lot less for granted and open your eyes! He asks us to remember that we may or may not believe that we are part of a galactic hominid gene pool (as David does) with both friends and foes among our ET cousins, but don't let this kind of idea put you off the much more down-to-earth stuff like the questionable day-to-day behavior of people like Henry Kissenger! Senior Sri Lanka minister killed

Kadirgamar was hit by snipers near his heavily-guarded home

Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar has been assassinated in a gun attack in the capital, Colombo.

The murder was being blamed by a senior police officer on the separatist Tamil Tigers, who have been observing a ceasefire since 2002.

But the ceasefire has been under recent growing strain, amid rebel claims that the government was continuing to conduct a covert war against them.

Mr Kadirgamar, 73, was shot near his heavily-guarded home on Friday evening.

BA Heathrow chaos affects 70,000

BA have cancelled about 500 flights

About 70,000 people are braced for another day of chaos at Heathrow after British Airways cancelled all flights until Friday evening.[

The move was prompted after an unofficial strike by ground staff in support of sacked catering workers.

More than 100 flights were grounded on Thursday leaving 15,000 passengers stranded - 1,000 of whom spent the night sleeping in the airport.

Inbound flights were diverted to other airports as far away as Newcastle.

Qantas, Sri Lankan, Finnair, GB and British Mediterranean, also serviced by BA ground staff, are affected by the strike which is taking place during the peak holiday season.

Death and the Afterlife A Cultural Encyclopedia

Taylor teaches courses at Berkeley on burial and afterlife and has previously published on Hinduism and ancient religions. The only obvious competitors to his first reference work are the Encyclopedia of Death, edited by Robert and Beatrice Kastenbaum (1989. o.p.) and James R. Lewis's Encyclopedia of Afterlife Beliefs and Phenomena (Gale, 1994. o.p.). The Kastenbaum volume asks, "What would one expect in an encyclopedia about death?," but its coverage of topics such as funerals is not very detailed regarding specific traditions. Lewis's work leans toward spiritualism, psychic phenomena, and the occult. Taylor's, on the other hand, is concerned with customs and beliefs relating to death and burial in a number of broad cultural contexts and groupings. The clear, well-written articles cover most major religious and cultural traditions from prehistoric to modern without being overly simplistic. However, some gaps should be corrected in future editions. In the article on burial shrouds, for instance, Taylor does not mention their use in Islam, Sihkism, and the Bah '! faith; there are no articles on the funerary customs of the Sikhs and the Bah '!s; and the entries on resurrection are titled in the form "Resurrection [Religion]," but there is no cross reference to the entry "Qiyama" from the entry "Resurrection, Muslim." All the same, these considerations do not undermine the broad value of this encyclopedia, which will be highly useful in academic, public, and theological libraries as a complement to the other two works mentioned.DWilliam P. New US Mars probe delayed again

Bad weather had already delayed launch preparations

The US space agency has delayed the launch of its new Mars probe for the second day running.

The $500m Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) was due to launch on Thursday, but controllers called a halt just a few minutes before blast-off.

It will arrive in orbit around Mars in March to look at the history of water on the planet and hunt for landing sites for future manned missions.

MRO can transmit 10 times more data each minute than previous Mars probes.

During loading of the hydrogen fuel tank, sensors showed a "dry" reading when they should have been reading "wet". A similar problem forced Nasa to scrub the launch of the space shuttle Discovery from Cape Canaveral on 13 July.

Firefox- Faster Page Loading

1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows: (by double clicking them)

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. (I changed mine to 100, works great.)

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves

Crazy Gravity
This is like Thrust if you have played it, except that in this re-make you are not trying to kill each other (this one is only 1 player), instead you have to collect items off different pads and take them back to the starting pad.

There are various obsticles to avoid and if you hit anything you die so you have got be careful. On the harder skill levels you have to collect more fuel than usual which gives it that bit extra but not much.

Malaysia haze triggers emergency

Kuala Lumpur's landmarks have disappeared

Malaysia has announced a state of emergency in two cities after air pollution reached dangerous levels.

The pollution is blamed on fires lit to clear land in neighbouring Indonesia, seriously affecting air quality and visibility across the Malacca Strait.

Air quality readings taken in the two cities showed pollution markers to be above the emergency level of 500.

The haze has prompted hundreds of schools to shut, as well as disrupting airports and busy shipping lanes
